If the Feeling is Gone
Not to be the Grinch or anything, but isn't the word "Merry Christmas" getting too saturated already? 90% of the YM status says the MC word, or the HH, or the Tagalog version of it. Even the office emails are not spared of this.
Yes, I know, you don't have to tell me. Because it's Christmas.
But MC being used TOO much, the warmth, sincerity, and reverence that the phrase deserves gets lost somewhere along the way. Kinda like the "God bless" phrase, which, in its strictest Biblical context means bestowing and outpouring God's richness of grace into that person being told "Gob bless". And I don't need to enumerate how enormous the riches of God's grace is. That'll be another blog entry, I believe.
Seriously, when were you greeted with "Merry Christmas" and felt warm and tingly all over because you really FELT the greeting coming with all sincerity of the heart? I think it was lost somewhere in between the "hi's" and "hello's" and "kamusta's"; all becoming too generic. Tsk. Tsk.

i get your point, pero hirap din kasi quay isip ng ibang paraan para mag express.. lalo na pag andun na sa "generic" statement ung gusto mong iparating. hindi naman mawawala ung meaning nung greeting if you accept it for what it is, without thinking about how easily it is said.. i guess all we could do is take in all the positive energy and holiday spirit all around, even the fake greetings. wag mo na isipin ung sa sincerity, sila naman ung talo pag hindi sila nagpakatotoo. ;)
